Happy Father's Day!

My Daddy and I have always had such a special bond. I remember always stepping on his feet and dancing to music, singing country music with the window rolled down, playing games, goal stroals and every morning he would wake me up and carry me in to the table where my breakfast was already made.

This is our song. I used to sing it and would cry myself to sleep when he would go out of town when I was a little girl. I hated when I had to be away from my Dad. Now that I live in Utah this song really means a lot to me.. because I know I really do have a friend and all I've got to do is call and he'll be there:)

When you're down and troubled
and you need a helping hand,
and nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
and soon I will be there
to brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,
and you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yeah
to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
all you got to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah
You've got a friend.

If the sky above you
should turn dark and full of clouds
and that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud now
and soon I'll be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
all you got to do is call
and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?
People can be SO cold.
They'll hurt you and desert you.
Well they'll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but DON'T you let them.

You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again.
Don't you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.

I still love being on his shoulders. Til this day!:) I've always been my Daddy's little girl. I love hearing people tell me I look like him. He's the best Dad IN THE WHOLE world. I love knowing that I ALWAYS have his arms to go to and my Dad will NEVER let me down. I love him so much.

-He was my very first date when I was 16
-He is an AMAZING public speaker
-Spiritually in-tuned
-Includes everyone
-He's hilarious
-So good with kids
-The BIGGEST tease I know
-He will do anything and everything for his family
-A wonderful husband AND the BEST Father in the whole world.

He has always believed in me and I love him so much.

It's been so much fun living near my Dad's Dad. I feel I've gotten to know my Dad even better. I get to hear stories of him growing up quite often and live in his old room that he had in highschool, and go to the same seminary building he did. It's fun. My Grandpa Paul came in town this week and I went to a rodeo with him and Nana. I got to be with both Grandpa's for a second:) I'm so grateful for my Grandpa's. Happy Grandpa's Day to both of you! Thanks for your example. You both are amazing men.

Lastly, I'm SO grateful for a loving Father in heaven that gave these amazing men to me. My Heavenly Father is so loving and I want to become more like him also. I have felt his love for me so strong. I know he is with us in all things and wants us to grow and return to him.
I LOVE this quote by Richard G.Scott
"I testify that when the Lord closes one important door in your life, he shows continuing love and compassion by opening other compensating doors through your exercise of faith. He will place in your path, packets of spiritual sunlight to brighten your way. They often come AFTER the trial has been the greatest, as evidenced of the compassion and love of an all-knowing Father. They point the way to greater happiness and more understanding and strengthen your determination to accept and be obedient to his will.
Our Father In Heaven Loves us and wants us to be nothing but happy. He's with us in everything we do.
